The biennial World Cities Summit is an exclusive platform for government leaders and industry experts to address sustainable city challenges, share integrated urban solutions and forge new partnerships. Key highlights of the Summit include the Lee Kuan Yew World City Prize and the annual World Cities Summit Mayors Forum.

The event is co-organised by the Centre for Liveable Cities and the Urban Redevelopment Authority, and is held in conjunction with the Singapore International Water Week, the CleanEnviro Summit Singapore, and the Singapore International Transport Congress and Exhibition.
 
 
IFHP is a strategic partner of The World Cities Summit, and has contributed to the WCS in Singapore in 2016, 2014 and 2012 and the WCS Mayers Forums in 2017 and 2015.

The 2018 edition 


Topic 
Themed “Liveable & Sustainable Cities: Embracing the Future through Innovation and Collaboration”, the 6th World Cities Summit in 2018 will explore how cities can be more liveable and resilient through better governance and planning, technology and social innovations, as well as collaborations with various stakeholders and with other cities. Through shared vision and active engagement, the public, private and people sectors can co-create innovative and integrated urban solutions for a more sustainable future.
 
 
 
 
 
Side events
The week of 8 -12 July 2018 will be filled with co-located events, receptions and launches adressing specific urban topics created by the WCS' sponsors and strategic partners, including IFHP. Many of these offer complimentary access to World Cities Summit delegates.

The Lee Kuan Yew World City Prize & IFHP

 
The prize recognises outstanding international initiatives for city excellence by outstanding individuals and organisations who have contributed with urban initiatives, policies or projects which epitomise foresight, good governance or innovation in overcoming the challenges faced by cities. Lecture and forum discussions will focus on four key pillars that are instrumental to the success of every city - liveability, vibrancy, sustainability and quality of life.
 
This year, IFHP President Flemming Borreskov is part of the selection committee for the price. 
 
 

 
The Centre for Liveable Cities (CLC) is responsible for the organisation. CLC is a member of IFHP.
